Join us in the Summer Room at April Hill to learn about the biological principles of camouflage, and then make camouflage eggs! The workshop will include a lesson on the different types of camouflage animals use, with a special interest in birds' camouflaged eggs, and then transition to an art project in which we'll paint eggs to blend in to the forest floor. At 12 pm, while families eat a self-packed picnic lunch, educators will go across the street to the April Hill forest trail to hide half of the eggs along the sides of it. (Participants will get to take home the remaining eggs.) At 12:30 pm, families are invited to walk the trails, taking pictures of any camouflaged eggs they find, while learning more facts along the way via signage. The eggs will remain along the trail until Saturday, April 11th, a two-week period so the fun can continue through Easter Sunday.
Note: All children must be accompanied by an adult for this engaging family activity!
Registration starts on 02/26/2026 and ends on 03/27/2026.
Participants may register at any time during this period.
The minimum number of sessions for registration is 1 and the maximum is 12.
